How I first starting making customs signatures for forums

One of my hobbies is manipulating and editing photographs, graphics, etc.  I am currently aiming to some day be able to produce my own graphics but until I can purchase the new edition of Photoshop Im well stuck.  I can thank vista for that and being incompatiable with over half of my old programs.  Picture it publishing, I will miss you, yes you had your problems but you were such a joy to work with and was easily one of my more favourite programs that I’ve worked with over the years.  But now your lost.  Bah.

Microsoft, if you read this, bring it back or update it, it really was a very nice, stable program for beginners and experts alike, thats so rare to find at times.

Anyway for a long time I was a moderator on various forums, namely star wars, lord of the rings, babylon 5 and other such related sites.  As a moderator and sometimes site admin I noticed that people wanted pictures to display their character, their identity on the forum.  So I made a few demo pics of what I thought people would like and even though people on the internet are generally a picky bunch as well as less than complimentary at times, the feedback was generally good so I set about creating an individual signature pic for each and every one of the people on the forum.  Considering some of these forums had 80+ active members it was no easy task.  But hey it was fun and it allowed me to explore my creative side in a fun way.
